I spent four years with the U.S. Army Old Guard at Arlington National Cemetery. Funerals were held on horseback with the respected Caisson platoon.
It was during my extensive training with the military that I was introduced to the rigorous demands and responsibilities of not only maintaining but also ensuring the well-being of all military horses. This included detailed care routines, grooming practices, and understanding their behavior in various situations. I was honored to receive the prestigious distinction of US Army Farrier – a highly respected position held by a select few.
I’m a proud father, a passionate outdoorsman, and a true Florida native. The rhythms of this state run deep in my roots – its the land, its the water, and its way of life are part of who I am.

Prevent hoof problems, such as cracks, chips, or abscesses by trimming and carving excess hooves with a variety of tools, including nippers, rasps, and farrier knives.
Forge a custom-fitted horseshoe, apply it with high heat to the hoof, and maintain the horseshoes by reshaping or replacing worn ones.
Evaluate alignment of hooves and restore them to their natural and efficient shape. Occasionally, add extra support to the underside of the shoe with modern farrier materials such as pads, glue, or wooden clogs.
